Italian Tiles Sew Along: Week 5

Sew Along

Time to get those Star Outlines put together! This is always the step where I start to see the quilt coming together.

Again, the pattern is pretty self explanatory here so check it out for all the ins and out of assembling these.

The most helpful tip I have for you is to lay out all the corners and outline pieces so you know you have the right amount of pieces cut and ready to go.

This will also help you make sure you have the pieces in the right places. You'll notice there are two different arrangements based on which corner they are in. If you lay them all out before - you'll be sure to get it right. Yay!

Also, my Project Wool Cutting mat made my seams SUPER crisp! this quilt is coming together much smoother because of my pressing. No. Kidding.

If you realize you have a lot of the shorter outline pieces after you lay everything out - it's because you need to attach some of these pieces to the top of your Star Points.

This is a pretty easy assembly week, but once you get it complete there is a big pay off. You can lay everything out and see the center of your quilt coming together! EEEEEK!! So exciting!

I had a little helper in the studio this week. He helped a lot with these outlines.. and by "help" I mean distracted me with those cute little hands.

Another week - another giveaway! Make sure you are posting your progress on Instagram so you are entered to win. This weeks prize is a $25 gift card to Cottoneer! This will come in handy if you haven't ordered your backing yet. I wish I could win this one... Good luck!!
