There are several ways to make Half Square Triangles (HST). So far all of my quilt patterns have used the Eight at a Time Method but for one of my next quilt patterns - I've used the Four at a Time Method. Have you tried it?
This method is short and sweet. Let's just jump right in!
1. Start with you squares.
You'll need one from your main fabric and one for you background. There are a TON of charts out there telling you what size to cut your squares depending on what finished block you would like. Just a simple google search will get you what you need..
2. Pin them together with right sides together.
3. Sew a ¼" away from the edge - all the way around the perimeter of the square.
I used my needle down function to pivot at each corner but you can simply sew off the edge if you want!
4. Cut apart from corner to corner.
5. Press open and trim! Viola! You've got four at a time!
What to practice? I've got the perfect pattern for you!
