Today is a big day - today I get to share my second fabric collection with Moda Fabrics. (What?!) Imprint is a love letter to travel and all the places that have left an impression on all of our creative hearts. This fabric is available for quilt shops to order now from Moda and will ship in August 2026. I'm showing off the collection along with some behind the scenes and the inspiration. Let's jump in!
I've been lucky enough to travel abroad a handful of times so far. My first time was in college with my bestie. We went to the Netherlands and Paris in one trip. I took SO many pictures of doors, tiles, cabinet pulls, mosaics, etc. I just LOVE seeing something so old and imagining all the life it has witnessed, all the people it has seen.

The next time I went to Europe was on a trip to Italy with my husband. We left for this trip the week after I quit my job as an interior designer. This trip felt like a magical breath of fresh air. I was so inspired by everything we saw and got to enjoy it - completely untethered from work for the first time in a long time. We visited Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Sorrento and Naples over a two week period. I think this was still my favorite trip of all. Italy is beautiful and so full of history. SO many incredible artists have lived there throughout history and I just wanted to absorb it all. I came back and created Sewn.

Our most recently trip was to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We went to Spain where we stayed in Barcelona and then spent a few days in Majorca. I can't believe I was lucky enough to see some of the architecture I studied in college. The color and vibrancy of Barcelona was breathtaking. I will never forget walking through Sagrada Familia. The story this building holds for the city and the number of artists and architects that have added their vision to this ongoing work is incredible.

So, how do you capture all of this in one fabric collection? It was tough. I started with a photo album of all my most favorite photos. I created an inspiration board, gathered some of the souvenirs we brought home with us and got to work. I sketched several motifs I noticed throughout the images, transferred those to blocks which I then hand-carved. This created stamps for me to use. I prefer to work in black and white at first and decide on color later.

I knew I wanted this color pallet to be earthy. I always try to design fabrics that I would want to purchase myself - things that would work well in my own home or quilt patterns. This collection turned out to feel the most like me. I've got some art prints in the works that coordinate with this collection so stay tuned for that! This collection truly has my whole heart. It's full of memories and inspiration from the past. I'll treasure this one for a lifetime.

I've created a few mockup of my quilt patterns in the collection for your to see below. Next week on the blog I've got some FABULOUS projects to show off so you can really start to envision all your projects for 2026.
The Natural Harmony is from my Scandinavian Series and had to be the first rendering showing off the olive green set of fabric! The sweet tulip petals so off the fabric so well! Don't forget you can also get the acrylic templates for this one at Cut Once Quilts.

I've always loved how the Rooflines Quilt Pattern can really show off a full collection. The large blocks allow for bigger prints and let you show of a new fabric for each row. The acrylic templates for this pattern can also be purchased at Cut Once Quilts.

Moda has several precut options for this collection including Jelly Rolls! The Leaded Light Quilt pattern is the perfect quilt to show those off. This quilt pattern is also Fat Quarter Friendly as well!
