BIG NEWS! Today is the day the new FREE Mitered Quilt Pattern goes live. If you joined my email list in the past you received a copy of the Effort & Ease quilt pattern but that will officially be retiring today! (We wish it the best!)
My first attempt to make sure the pattern and blocks would work together! I made this sweet little baby size from scraps in my stash.

I wanted to design a new free pattern that was more beginner friendly and a fast finish. The Mitered Quilt Pattern is inspired by my love of architecture and interior design. This pattern also includes instructions for a baby, throw and twin size version! My previous free pattern only included one small throw size. So, this gives you more options!
In my previous life we regularly discussed mitered joints on cabinetry and mitered seams on the corner of pillows. I love the extra detail it adds to pillow trim when it's mitered on the face of a pillow! The effect of all these blocks together reminds me of the inset panel sometimes seen on cabinetry doors or a detailed front door of a house.
This I made for the cover using Moda Bella Solids!

At the beginning of the pattern you'll find a sample block with the fabrics labeled from lightest to darkest. The idea is that if you follow the guide - you'll get a three dimensional effect when the blocks are all sewn together. I love the way the all blue quilt looks below that Lorraine Carruthers made. Kathy Miesner has also made a GORGEOUS version with all the Autumn vibes. I love these pretty little florals! She even added an additional row to the bottom of the baby size to make it a bit longer.
And last but not least - a beautiful throw size by Janette Steinheimer! Those florals... no notes. Perfection.
