Rooflines Quilt Pattern

Today is the day friends! The Rooflines Quilt Pattern is out in the world. It's been over a year since I have designed a modern quilt pattern and released it into the world so it feels great to shake off the dust today!

I was approached by Modish Quilter Magazine in 2022 about designing a pattern for an upcoming issue of their online magazine. I immediately said - yes! This pattern originally released in their January 2023 issue with instructions for the throw size only.

Above is the original quilt I made for Modish Quilter Magazine. It is composed entirely of Art Gallery Solids.

The baby size quilt pictured above is the sweetest size and is very fast to sew together!

When I set out to design the pattern I was drawing a blank. I new I wanted it to be simple and approachable for any level of quilter. I went for a walk around my neighborhood to gather a little inspiration and clear my head.

Having a background in interior design I also knew I wanted the pattern's inspiration to relate to my love for interiors and home design. I love our neighborhood and as I was walking down some of our curvy culs de sacs I notice something. As your eye line is pulled down the hill - all the little rooflines blur together. That was my "ah ha" moment..

My mom made the sweetest holiday version of this quilt pattern shown above. Don't you love it!?

I rushed home and started playing around in Adobe Illustrator. I had recently purchased a new ruler that I saw on Instagram and also wanted to try that out. This V Block Trimmer from Studio180 was a game changer. It makes V Blocks a snap!

The Rooflines Quilt Pattern includes a template you can print and cut to use, but this ruler does make it much easier to cut out your pieces if you want to give it a shot.
