Hello! Jumping back into our summer series all about what to do with all that leftover fabric. Today we are talking about block printing on top of that fabric. Stick with me - you don't need anything fancy to do this!
Start by picking your frame.
I found this frame at Target. It holds an 8 x 10 print.
Grab your scrap.
For my frame I knew I needed an 8 x 10, so I squared up my scrap. I cut it to be 9 x 11 so I would have some wiggle room when I was mounting it.
Pick your stamp.
You make your own using this blog post I wrote OR you can just walk the section of your local craft store. I have also found old, wooden stamps in my local antique shop as well. You don't have to carve your own.

Stamp it!
Grab your ink! You have options here. I used some screen printing ink I already had, but because this is just going on fabric in a frame you can also just use some acrylic paint. This isn't going to be washed so it doesn't have to be any special paint. Or even easier - use a stamp pad! I found this extra large one on Amazon that is my go-to when I'm testing a block.
Choose your repeat and go for it! I love a repeating pattern that nests together like I'm showing here. I finger pressed my fabric to create a simple grid to guide me as I stamped my fabric. For more visual check out the Reel I made on Instagram.
Frame it, gift it or hang it!
You're done. Let it dry, frame it and show it off. This was such a fun way to just relax and create something new. It used up this scrap that was too small for a quilt, but too large to toss. I love it! It makes me happy every time I come into my office.
