The Bedroom Quilt pattern is the final pattern in the Sewn Home Series. I can't believe how fast this year has passed. I remember designing this series last summer and the last release date felt like it was forever away. Here we are!
This pattern was designed for my guest bedroom. This room wasn't designed at all so I had a lot of room to play! I went super simple with the bedding - all white sheets and a white quilted comforter. There is currently a dark purple wool throw at the foot of the bed.
I went with a platform bed in this space. I found this one on Wayfair. It is a great, high quality bed! I love the pretty wood finish. It took me two of the boys' naps to get it assembled, but it was worth it! The mattress we ordered is surprisingly comfortable too. We went with the Tuft and Needle mattress that is sold exclusively on Amazon. It saved us some cash which was a bonus. It's very comfortable so definitely worth the savings for a bed that gets slept on occasionally. Because the bed is a platform bed we also didn't have to order a box spring which saved us a few hundred dollars.
When I was designing the Bedroom Quilt Pattern I new I wanted it to resemble a designer throw blanket. I wanted a pattern that would add some vibrant pattern and texture to the bed. This pattern is almost entirely composed of flying geese blocks. You can read a few tips and tricks for sewing those blocks together in this blog post.
This pattern is really versatile. I love the look of it in solid fabrics! That's my go-to. I also made this sweet little baby size too. I have been holding onto this backing from Cotton + Flax for so long. I was waiting for the perfect quilt and here it is!
I was able to curate this soft quilt kit is available at Lamb & Loom Fabrics. I love these subtle soft colors. It adds some texture and pattern to the guest room without being too busy.
There is one more quilt kit available for this release. Great minds must think alike because Rosie Girl Quilting also went with a soft and gorgeous color pallet! Isn't it peaceful!?
Now onto my testers - look at these gorgeous quilts!

I love the vibrant contrast that Sara Marie (@saralucillehandmade) went with for her version! I want a throw size of this one for myself.
Thank you all SO much for loving this series! It's incredible to be able to combine my love of interior design and quilting. My hope for this series is to inspire a new generation of quilters! I want there to always be young quilters joining in on this hobby so that it lives forever. Quilts can be made as an accent for your most beautifully designed spaces. They can be designed and made for beautiful spaces and set out for everyone to admire in your home. Share you quilts with me on IG! (@sewnhandmade)
